Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.

Sometimes, an opportunity for healing an old wound comes at the most unexpected time and by means that feel downright cruel. Something could happen today that could make you want to get your violine out and sing the old ‘Why me’ tune…. but wait!
Is what is happening really so terrible? Is Nature perhaps doing its thing and showing you that the course you set for yourself simply isn’t viable. Would you be better off sitting down and thinking things through so that you can adapt your plans? Do your plans need to be brought into alignment with Nature for harmony to be restored?
One thing is for certain, that ‘My way or the highway’ attitude will only bring pain and sorrow today. You are much better off slowing down and going into listening mode.
Also, today it’s good to stay silent and observe in order to avoid accidents.
On a personal note, a Tower style disaster already struck in our very own garden this morning. Hildegard the Hedgehog had indeed given birth (which is what we were hoping for). However, one of her young had ventured out of the nest and got picked up by our curious Jack Russell. We got her to drop the hoglet which seems to be OK but it won’t go back into the nest and Mama Hedgehog is nowhere to be seen.
We did the only thing we could think of and contacted the local hedgehog rescue. Fortunately, they had been called out to another rescue scene nearby this morning so they will come by shortly to assess the situation.
Hopefully, peace will be restored soon and the little one will be fine. We were instructed to put it in a box and keep it warm. It has moved about a bit and seems hungry (peeping), so it is recovering from the shock.
Whatever happens next, we will need to come up with a plan for the hedgehog nest (7 of Swords) to avoid future accidents (The Tower).
I’m also contemplating the deep emotional impact this had on both me and my husband. As overjoyed we were to discover Hildegard in our garden, as shocked and dismayed we are now that the nest has been disturbed, Hildegard has gone missing and one of the babies has had to suffer distress…
This strong emotional desire to nurture and protect what is vulnerable in Nature is no doubt magnified by the New Moon in Cancer. A failure to protect new life is bringing other Mother wounds to the surface. We all do our best to nurture and protect… and we all fail at times… and when we do we have to forgive ourselves – It’s all part of restoring harmony and bring things back into balance.
